Compared to this time last year and the year before, I am seeing more A-Frames on the market just north of NYC. Several are new builds, and a few have been on the market for a bit. Even @ablackaframe is unloading a couple of their properties as a commercial bundle. I would say the price ranges are still out of reach for your average home buyer, let alone someone buying a 2nd home. I know the area is very desirable for a lot of people. I would live in most of these homes in a heartbeat, but it’s the nearly +/-$800k price tag that’s keeping me from doing so.

Camp!

Last weekend, we were able to move the new sofa into our cabin on top of the new floors! Things are starting to feel cozy in there. The floors are not 100% finished yet. They still need to be sealed. There are some spots where I went a little crazy with the adhesive, and those spots are not exactly dry yet, and I feel like it’s going to take some time before I can finish that final step. Until then, I’m going to move forward with the walls. The first wall I’m going to insulate and cover with plywood will be the wall behind the sofa since that one will be the easiest. Then the weekend after I install that wall, I will move on to the wall with the two windows where the kitchen will be since I want to get the kitchen started ASAP! Here’s a pic of everything as we left it last weekend:

After I moved everything in and spent some time in the space, I decided to make a few minor changes. 1. I’m going to get a small dresser for more storage and put that where I was going to hang the chair. 2. I may move the hanging chair closer to the door or just not use it. 3. I’m going to go with a more neutral and smaller rug. When I got this striped rug, I was planning on going with plywood on the floor. I’m not mad about it because I can definitely use this striped rug at my house, so it won’t go to waste. 4. I think I might go with a neutral cover for the bedroll on the cot. I’m not loving the black and white how it is currently. Bringing in these colorful floors have thrown my initial plans out the window. Of course, I made these changes to my rendering so we could see how it might look. How are we feeling about it? It will probably change 10000 more times.

I have been watching this house come to life over the past couple of years on the gram, and I’m thrilled to see it complete and ready for visitors. Anna and Thom did an amazing job with the interior, and anyone would be lucky to spend some time in this beauty! They are actually doing a giveaway right now if you want to throw your hat in the ring.
