A-Frame She-Shed Progress

There have been some minor developments in the campsite she-shed project since last week. I was having a hard time figuring out how to layout the site, and then I found this cute thing on FBMP. It’s near Pittsburgh, which is too far away, but I sent the photos to the shed builder I have been in contact with, and I’m just waiting on him to get me some quotes. I’m hoping it comes in lower than the $7,800 it’s listed for since I have seen larger sheds for a lot less; they just weren’t A-frames, so IDK. The shed builder said, “Wow! This looks exciting!” when I sent him the plans, so we’ll see what happens. I like how it has an a-frame vibe but gives you a little more space, so this would be the first structure we buy and would be the main living area and where we eat if it’s raining, etc. The 2nd structure would be more of a true a-frame, and that would be where we have guests sleep and a quiet place for sleeping since the adults stay up later than the kids. This site is totally off-grid, BTW. We will have to purchase a small generator, and there are portable toilets available which is why I don’t have a bathroom laid out on this floorplan.

Above is a layout of the larger portion of the site with the two structures and a deck out back. The deck is big enough for a picnic table and a solo stove with some chairs. Below is the visual I sent the shed maker so you can see what I’m talking about! I also started a Pinterest board to nail down a vibe for the interior. Check it out here.

Stay

I shared this house in my stories this week, and everyone lost their minds! I did some exploring and was able to find it on Airbnb, so you can actually stay here if you want to! It’s completely off-grid with its own energy and food production and has a lower nightly rate than most A-frames in the Catskills.
